Problem
By 2050, global food production needs to increase by 60% to feed an estimated 9.7 billion people. Simultaneously, severe droughts are impacting farmlands and threatening agricultural sustainability. Farmers need smart, personalized solutions to conserve water and maximize crop productivity.
Solution
User-friendly Dashboard
Allows farmers to look at their daily schedule and get progress updates
display widgets to shortcut around the application
Intuitive dashboard for easy access
Analyze Water Usage
Help farmers visualize their water plans
Shows detailed breakdown of their water plan and cost savings
Calculated by tracking data from your watering plan and comparing it to other farmers growing the same crops as you without a personalized watering plan.
Irrigation Suggestion
Get suggestion from AI to help reduce water waste
Efficient crop management to maximize productivity
Our Approach
Research
Our team interviewed a farmer to get information about the farmer's pain points and insight.
Next our team, define our findings from the interview and draw ideas by doing crazy 8s and then synthesized all of this data into an affinity map that helped us build personas, empathy maps, information architecture and design ideas.
This user flow visualize the steps by steps of first time user onboarding.
This process shows our team what worked and what didn't worked within the application from our user feedback.
Reflections
My team and I had so much fun throughout the project process! We all had different skills and experiences to make this project happen! This was my first project at NYU. I learned so much about user testing and design systems which made me a better user experience designer. This was a great experience to learn from. Thank you so much Raffy, Sujin, Na, Najla, Evelyn for being wonderful classmates

User Testing Results Analysis
Testing
Given our research findings, we came up with wireframes and low fidelity to visualize our app idea.
After our team discussions on deciding a cohesive color theme and typography which best fit our app
Entering the user testing phase, We made a list of tasks for our users to walkthrough in the app while collecting their feedback. this process enables us to understand how effective our user flow journey and usability.
Our team formulated follow up questions to ask our testers about our app.
Hopefully Team Up with Developers
After engaging with farmers and experts during testing, the next step is connecting with developers.
We will collaborate to turn feedback into actionable app features, addressing usability and tech challenges. This ensures the app aligns with real-world farming needs while leveraging technology to help the target audience solve their problems.
Implement Iterations From User Testing Results
While we only had a few weeks to complete this project, the next step is to make final changes based on the feedback that we received from our user testing and implement them into our app.

UX Design: Sketches, Wireframing, Usability

In a class that I took at NYU called "Interactive Design", students were put into teams and tasked with solving a real life problem by creating a mobile application
Our team decided it would be a good idea to solve a problem regarding water conservation especially in areas where drought was more prevalent such as states like California.
